The Circle has a three tiered ranking system by which it determines authority. Those of lower rank are expected to follow the commands of those above them. Ranks also have certain responsibilities which go with them and if a mage is unable to meet these responsibilities, they will not be promoted. Ranks are listed below in order from lowest to highest.
Student: First rank in the guild. This rank is given to those who first join the guild. Students will have either a teacher or a master which they are training under. The student is expected to follow the commands of the teacher. The job of a student is to learn control over their spells under the instruction of their teachers or masters.
Teacher: Second rank in the guild. The job of a teacher is to ensure that students master the needed skills to become a teacher themselves. Teachers are expected to supervise their students, but guilt of any wrong will always fall on the student. Teachers may take on as many students as they feel comfortable with. Teachers are expected to also be looking out for potential members to the guild. They may not recruit new members, but they may pass the name of those onto either the Head Master.
Head Master: The Head Master can either be a single person or can be a small group of people, each of which will hold the title of second and third in command. These positions are rewarded based on the need to help maintain the guild. Head Masters will be able to physically induct people into the guild and promote or demote all ranks. They will also have the power to remove people from the guild. They will be expected to have the same duties as a teacher, including the duty of the roster, setting up events, and maintaining order. They will be responsible for promoting and establishing the guild. |
